Updating the plugin apparently resets the track opacity setting to 0. You can see this on your own docs page! The tracks are apparently missing! (It may be just custom settings that are reset)
Also – how do you add a start/finish marker in the shortcode?
And – it’s no big deal but is it possible to enable relative links to gpx files?

    Hi @digbymaass,

Thanks for letting me know about this – I have just released a fix for this. Please let me know if you encounter any more issues.

In future please create a new ticket for separate issues 🙂…

Also – how do you add a start/finish marker in the shortcode?

You can only specify one at a time using the Shortcode Markers feature, so creating a Map containing two Markers and then embedding that using the Shortcode, i.e.

    [Waymark map_id="1234"]

And – it’s no big deal but is it possible to enable relative links to gpx files?

Try enabling Settings > Advanced > Store Read Files. This will use the Media Library to store uploaded files, which can be accessed by URL. However depending on your environment, this method may not work. The default method does not store the original file and currently it can only be downloaded through the Export feature (Settings > Misc. > Public Export).

I will have a think about adding an option to directly download Waymark Map data via a URL.

    Cheers,

    Joe

Sorry about combining issues! I won’t do it again.

I always use shortcodes for maps directly in the posts. One start or finish marker is enough but can it go into the shortcode, generated automatically from the gpx file? ie the track automatically displays with a start (or finish) marker. I can’t work out from the docs how to do it. I imagined something like marker_type=”start”

And I mean a relative link to the uploaded gpx in the media library in the shortcode eg [Waymark file_url=”/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Pentlands_from_Bruntsfield_and_back.gpx”]
It makes switching between localhost installations and live site easier, and changing shortcodes from outdated mapping plugins.
