I have not changed versions but have had the same problem with Pingomatic starting Thursday the 20th. Have http://rpc.pingomatic.com/ in the “Update Services” box…
When I try to ping manually Pingomatic works successfully with all the sites except blo.gs which gives a “Got 0 response” for my feed URL. Can anyone shed some light on what that means?
Ok, same problem as stated in my first post … no update pings have been sent to any ping-o-matic site since I updated my blog to v1.5.
An Update to v1.5.1 alpha didn’t help either. I disabled all my plugins and tried again but with no success. I also switched back to the standard layout, but still no pings to weblogs.com & Co.
Does anyone of you have the same problems and know how to solve them?
I think we had this problem for awhile before noticing it—about a month ;(). An upgrade from WordPress 1.2 to 1.2.2 may have occurred at the time the pings stopped. This particular blog had not been moved up to 1.5. This is how we fixed the ping problem:
I emptied out *all* entries in ‘update services’, and pressed ‘update options’ (options saved). Then I made a test post to cycle the system through a no ping post. Went back to update services box and entered http://rpc.pingomatic.com/ , and pressed ‘update options’ again (options saved). Published a second test post, then immediately checked http://pingomatic.com/stats/100 and there was the server’s assigned URL.
Just did this today. Pings are working again! Yay!
