 * So what’s the sequence for the update for users _waiting_ to update to WP 3.9?
 * Deactivate or delete TinyMCE, update WordPress to 3.9, then install WP Edit,
   or what?
 * I can’t see where the sequence is properly laid out for users who haven’t updated,
   or for users who have updated, to WordPress 3.9.

 * Hi, and thank you for posting.
 * 1. Update WordPress to 3.9.
    2. Deactivate Ultimate Tinymce, and delete the files.
   3. Install and activate WP Edit. 4. Go to the WP Edit admin settings page, and
   click the “Database” tab. 5. Click the button to “Convert Ultimate Tinymce” options.
 * You should now be good to go using updated versions of everything 🙂
 * Please let me know if you have any questions or issues during the process.

 * Thanks – except, you can’t “delete the files” until you actually delete the old
   plugin (i.e., not just deactivate it). So shouldn’t it be:
 * 1. Update WordPress to 3.9.
    2. Deactivate Ultimate TinyMCE. 3. Install and activate
   WP Edit. 4. Import the old Ultimate TinyMCE database settings in WP Edit. 5.
   Delete the old database settings in WP Edit. 6. Delete the old Ultimate TinyMCE
   plugin.
 * At least that’s what I’ve done. Hope I’m right!
 * I notice that my “Easy Recipe Plus” plugin’s buttons appear as the second row
   of the WYSIWYG buttons. Is that how things should be?

 * Yes.. thank you, that’s exactly correct.
 * Regarding the other plugin buttons… I don’t have any control over where those
   are placed. You would need to contact them, and ask why they add them to the
   second row 😉
 * The buttons I control are only the ones included with WP by default.. and the
   ones I have manually added myself.
 * Other buttons will not appear in the interface. They will display exactly how
   the original authors intended in the editor.

 * This has really thrown me for a loop an I now have to have my IT guy reinstall
   an older version of my site so i do not have the WordPress 3.9 version all because
   my editor is trashed.
 * I did install the new WP edit plug in and deactivated the Ultimate and have barely
   two rows of buttons and missing most of my buttons like the Advanced Link button..
   Looks like most of the TinyMCE buttons are all gone. Can you please answer me
   this, if i want my service to work as before using the new plug in do i need
   the tiny mce and the ultimate tiny mce plug ins.
 * Prior to this i had both of the TinyMCE and the Ultimate TinyMCE plugins activated
   on my site and it worked perfectly with all the buttons. Can i get most of those
   buttons back with the new WP Edit plug in and if so how do i do so, the advanced
   Link Button does not show as an option on your website nor when i installed the
   WP Edit.
 * I do see the Tiny MCE options is available on the Pro side, is this a simple
   issue of upgrading to Pro and I will get the features back like the Advance Link
   button? If it is as simple as that please let me know, i find this very confusing
   and very little documentation on what the WP edit provides.
 * Thanks for your assistance.

 * Hi Brian,
 * I do apologize for all the frustration you must be feeling; as well as the time
   spent which could have been better used elsewhere.. I’m sure.
 * Please understand you are not alone.. and this update has been strenuous on many..
   both developers and end users.
 * > Can you please answer me this, if i want my service to work as before using
   > the new plug in do i need the tiny mce and the ultimate tiny mce plug ins.
 * No. The new service is simply not going to work exactly as it did before. Way
   too much has changed with the update of WP to 3.9, and the update of tinymce
   to version 4.
 * You can see the updated tinymce version on the [TinyMCE](http://www.tinymce.com/)
   website.. and compare how it looks to the default WP editor.
 * Many of the buttons used in my Ultimate Tinymce plugin were developed by 3rd
   party, open source, developers. I found them out there in google-land.. modified
   them to work with WP.. and added them to Ultimate Tinymce.
 * Now, those buttons everyone has become so dependent on… are not compatible with
   the new version of Tinymce (4). NONE of the 3rd party developers of those buttons
   have created updates. I can’t add the tinymce version 3 buttons into the tinymce
   version 4 framework… it simply won’t work.
 * So, the only solution is to manually update every single one of those addons.
   Well, I can only do so much. I’ve already tackled the VERY laborious task.. and
   the ones I’ve completed (youtube, advanced html editor, lorem ipsum, and a few
   others) are only available in the pro version of WP Edit. All of the old buttons
   are not there yet… but I’m working on it every day.
 * I hope this helps you understand a little better. I apologize for my lack of
   documentation at this point. I’ve spent the past six months writing code preparing
   for this update.. and never got a chance to write much documentation. It will
   come very soon.

 * Hmm.. when I said “all seems to be working well” I meant there seemed to be no
   train wrecks, but I don’t see any added extra that WP Edit offers over the WP
   default. What the WP Edit “settings” screen looks like is not replicated in the
   editor.

 * What do you mean? How many editor rows do you see?
    I need specifics… I can’t“
   guess” without knowing what’s happening.
 * It’s possible you may have to click the “toggle toolbars” button to see the additional
   rows.

 * And please… we need to move this discussion to [WP Edit Forum](http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wp-edit).
 * You can create a new topic there.. and reference this one via a link.
 * But since we are discussing WP Edit, this is not the proper forum.
 * Thanks!

 * I mean the WP Edit “settings” screen is not what I see in the actual WP editor.
   Furthermore, things that ARE available in the actual WP editor (simple things
   like “underline”) are, oddly, greyed out in the WP Edit “settings” screen as “
   Pro only” (i.e., send money). Underline as “Pro only”? It also messes with Easy
   Recipe. It’s so different from the old plugin that I can’t see a benefit, so
   I’m deleting it. Maybe I’ll revisit it again.

 * I apologize.. but I don’t think you are understanding what I am saying.
 * 1. The greyed out buttons in row 2 simply mean they can’t be dragged. They will
   still appear in the editor EXACTLY as they appear in the greyed out area.
 * Again… Do you have all your button rows? Or do you just have one row?
 * If you only have one row of buttons in your actual editor… then you need to click
   the TOGGLE TOOLBARS button. This is a button added by WP, which expands/collapses
   the additional rows of the editor.
 * The toogle toolbars button is set in it’s collapse mode by default. You have
   to click it to show the additional rows.
 * PLEASE READ THIS
    1. Go to your content editor.. and hover over each button with
   your mouse.. starting from the right. 2. When you see the “Toogle Toolbars” tooltip..
   click that button.
 * Now, do you see the additional editor rows?
