# Update Problem

 * Just updated the plugin and random content no longer works. Doesn’t show up at
   all in the footer in either place. Content and groups are still there though.
   Been working for years until now.

 * Hi there, thanks for reporting this! We have identified the issue. Version 1.6.0
   introduced AJAX-based content loading to improve compatibility with page caching,
   but it had a bug that affected sites using plain (non-pretty) permalinks.
 * We’ve just released version 1.6.1 which fixes this. If you update to 1.6.1, your
   random content should start showing again immediately.

 * I have enjoyed this plugin for at least 10 years, which is really amazing when
   I think about it. Thank you!
   I also have a problem since the recent update.I 
   narrowed it down to the “random content” plugin by turning all of my plugins 
   off and turning them on one-by-one. My homepage goes down when I turn it on, 
   and comes back online when I turn it off. I’m using this plugin on my homepage,
   which may be an edge case if you’re focused on permalinks and slugs.I’m using
   Version 1.6.2 of the plugin.I tried it using wordpress 6.8.3 and 6.9.1The fatal
   errors that I’ve been getting on my site refer to memory usage. Fatal error: 
   Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 24576 bytes)
   in /nas/content/live/site/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 490Let me know what
   other information I could provide to be helpful.
