This update kills the WordPress installation! Not even a standard restore in my web host Direct Admin panel managed to fix this. Had to manually remove both the database and all files/folders and then do a restore from scratch! So a tip to all in same situation (considered that you have a full backup of database and files/folders). – Remove Database completely. – Remove all files/ folders from WP installation directory. – Restore your previous backup of database and files/folders. * Hope the developers fix asap. Obviously updating process stopps autimatically after one hour or so. So I would recommend to do nothing but to wait a while.
