    Hello,

I attempted to update All in One SEO Pack (version 2.3.12) 2 days ago, but I got 500 Internal Server Error. I did not update anything else at that time, i.e. WordPress, theme or other plugins. The site is up without any issue except I could not login to my WP account. I had to deactivate the plugin via the host. Then I logged in and tried to activate the plugin again but no luck – 500 Internal Server Error and could not login again. I repeated the same step to get myself login.

I have been using All in One SEO Pack for 2 years as recommended by my friend. It is one of the best plugins and I want to keep using it as the on-page SEO of my site rely heavily on it. I’m afraid that all the SEO I have done on my website would be gone. Could you please kindly advise and help?

    Many thanks,
    Kate

    Hi Kate,

This is most likely a conflict of some sort with your theme or one of the other plugins. These instructions should help you narrow it down. https://semperplugins.com/documentation/how-to-troubleshoot-issues-with-all-in-one-seo-pack/

TL;DR You can narrow down a plugin/theme conflict by switching to the default theme and deactivating all plugins except AIOSEOP, then reactivate each one at a time until you get the error again.

    Hi Michael,

I have followed the steps: cleared caching, deactivated and reactivated each plugin. Every time when I activate AIOSEOP, it shows Internal Server Error again (wp-admin/index.php?page=aioseop-about) I guess it might be a conflict with the theme.

I have tried googling it. One of the solution might be switching back to the older version of AIOSEOP. If I really delete the new version and upload the old version (using FTP I guess), will I lose all the settings and meta tags I have created? Are there any ways of keep using the theme and your great plugin? I’m a newbie and it’s the first time I face this issue. Please kindly advise.

    Thanks a lot,
    Kate
