# Update old version to new

 * Hello, i have very old version of woocommerce (3.8.2) i wanna update this into
   new, but if i update right away to newest my page not working. Maybe there is
   solution how i cn update step by step, not like into 6v, but like into 4v and
   when to 5v and when to 6?

 * You could give that a try. You can find the versions here – [https://developer.woocommerce.com/releases/](https://developer.woocommerce.com/releases/)
 * If you get stuck at some point you may consider going for a clean installation
   after removing the old one completely.

 * As you want to save the products and all previous things, uninstalling WooCommerce
   is not the solution. You need to go for updating the existing one.
 * Please note that as you’ll be updating from a rather old WooCommerce version,
   I would recommend taking a full site [backup](https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/backup-wordpress-content/)
   before the update. You can use [UpdraftPlus](https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/)
   for backups.

 * Just looping back here to share a guide for uninstalling WooCommerce.
 * Normally, when you uninstall WooCommerce, only the plugin is deleted but your
   data (orders, products, etc.) and settings remain in a database, unless an additional
   step is taken to delete all of that. You can refer to [this guide](https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/installing-uninstalling-woocommerce/#uninstalling-woocommerce)
   in this regard.
 * Therefore once you’ve taken a full backup you can go for a fresh installation.
