# Update not working

 * I am trying the auto update, I got the FTP and password correct finally, so now
   it does not give me a connection error, but now it just sits there, I left it
   alone for 30+ minutes and when I returned it was still sitting there trying to
   load, when I just hit F5 to refresh the page it said it failed and to please 
   try again.
 * I installed this through Fantastico in Cpanel because the wordpress in Cpanel’s
   Addon programs was not as current as 3.0.3
 * could it be because of the install through Fantastico that it is failing to upgrade?
   
   If you know a reason, please do not hesitate to share it with me.

 * Hi Richard, sometimes the auto update has a problem on certain hosts. It’s a 
   great feature but when all else fails, the easiest way to do an update is to 
   use the download button (top right) and then FTP the files into place.
 * If your site is locked in maintenance mode (this happens sometimes), delete the.
   maintenance file while you’re in there.

 * So, having it installed through Fantastico then upgrading it manually will not
   hurt the installation?
 * What if Fantastico then gets the update then I use Fantastico to do the update,
   since it would already be updated, could it break something?
