Support » Localhost Installs » Update manually my locahost test site

  • Hi, I’m very noob with this, I create a localhost for testing features and configurations from our WP with Elementor and other pluggings.

I want to know how to update manually the content from my localhost from the site, I update with all the folders I downloaded from the panel and the news and contents not be refreshed.

    Thank you very much.

  • If I understand correctly, you want to import the content of the live website locally? The contents are in the database, you will not get them by copying folders. My recommendation would be to use a backup or migration plugin for this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/tags/backup/ – my recommendation would be: https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/

Thank for your answer, and there is no option to make an update manually?

I imagen that, I need update my folders to get the updated images from the folders from WP and as you comment the content from the website updates are applied with the update from the database.

I make an export complete from the database, can I select only the database tables that affect to the content renewed, news and imagens selection to be showed?

Thank you very much, I will look the pluggins, but I desire to know if it could be done manually too.

No, it can’t be automated. It would also be bad: at some point something is automatically transferred from a) to b) without you wanting it. Have a look at the plugins. With some you can also select the data to be exported. But I would recommend a complete copy – so you are on the safe side.
