Support » Plugin: User Role Editor » Update is not working – it’s acting as a refresh

  • Hi Team,

    Great plugin.

I’m working in a multisite environment with about a dozen different sites. For 11 of the sites, updating a user’s capabilities or a role’s capabilities works perfect. For one of my sites, however, any type of update takes the user back to the default User Role Editor screen. For example, if you’re editing the author role, you click “update” and the page load’s the default subscriber role edit screen – with no changes. The same thing happens when trying to edit a user.

We launched this site (the single site – not the network of sites) and changed the DNS and hosting company nearly a week ago. I thought that might have something to do with it, but because it’s been nearly I week I don’t think that’s the issue.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks a lot,
    Kevin.

    Hi Kevin,

I met a long time ago a situation when custom redirecting code (subdomain map or etc.) fired before URE with losing POST array values.
When you click ‘Update’ at the User Role Editor it sends POST request to the WordPress. If POST global is empty, URE does not have any to process.

Check if it’s not your case. You can insert var_dump($_POST); to the top of ure-lib.php process_user_request() function and look what it will show after you click ‘Update’.

Do other plugins update data correctly?
