    Please help!

I’m using The Professional theme, version 1.2 (I believe, I don’t have admin access) and having updated Options Framework (1.8.2?) a few hours ago seems to have completely thrown everything out of whack.

I tried a restore point and that seemed to only remove my admin access and deliver a “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page” error message.

I tried Siteground to get them to reset my admin and the person I messaged there stated “I tried to fix the problem with the admin panel of your website but to no avail. I added an extra admin user with a direct SQL query but this did not help me either.”

    The site is http://www.homelessvinyl.com.au

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi. Looks like there’s a couple issues going on with your site.

Was the Options Framework the only item you upgraded, or did you also upgrade the theme and WordPress install?

After the upgrade, what was the exact issue caused by the Options Framework? Did it revert to default options values? That might happen if the name of the theme changed.

You can restore an older version of the plugin if you think it was directly related to the upgrade: http://wordpress.org/plugins/options-framework/developers/

I’d be interested to know exactly what changes when you downgrade in terms of the options values.

You’ll need to work with your host to get your admin access resolved. I think that’s related to your restore point.

Hi Devin and sorry for the delay getting back to you.
Yes, Options Framework was the only plugin I upgraded.
I probably should have mentioned that when I did the restore, it didn’t work so I performed it again and stupidly didn’t delete some restoration files I should have.

The name of the theme didn’t change. It’s all quite complicated to explain and I don’t completely remember the exact steps I performed, but I have since learned a valuable lesson and it only cost me $40 to have Siteground perform a full restore at their end. The site works fine now except for a strange thing it does in that it kicks me out of admin if I click “Visit site” from the dashboard dropdown menu. When I go back to the admin dashboard it has logged me out. Annoying.

I just didn’t want you to think I had ignored your reply Devin and I’m very sorry for wasting your time with this one.

Ok, no problem. If someone else reports the issue I’ll see if we can trace it down further.
