Update hang

    For several days, I’ve been having problems with two WP blogs. Download times were appalling, so much so my stats have gone quite flat. It’s made working with the blogs very frustrating for me. I’ve checked the blogs on 3 different browsers. I deactivated several out-of-date plugins on each blog without discerned negative effects.

    Now, editing and clicking to update, the wheels crank, then the page goes completely white on the screen. Going back, I get the unedited version. If I’m lucky, there’s an autosave I can restore. Usually, the page goes through on the second attempt.

    Any explanation and suggestions to remedy this situation – much appreciated!

    It sounds like either a problem with your host (most likely) or a problem with your own internet connection. If other sites are loading ok, then it is probably the server your site is running on having problems. If it is on a shared server, it may suddenly be getting more traffic than it can handle.

    Thank you, Matt. I’ll check with the host, but I suspect my internet connection. It is that time of year when traffic increases!

    One thing, though – the only other place I noticed these incomplete downloads was on someone else’s WP blog. I’ll watch it more closely today and see if any other sites give me the same problem. If I get it resolved, I’ll come back and mark this topic resolved. If I don’t get it resolved, I’ll leave this topic open in case anyone else experiences the same difficulty.
