Update Error

I’m having a problem updating Jigoshop. If I click update from the Plugins page, I get the following error.

Downloading update from https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/jigoshop.1.12.2.zip…
Unpacking the update…
Installing the latest version…
Removing the old version of the plugin…
Could not remove the old plugin.
Plugin update failed.

Since this didn’t work, I downloaded the plugin and replaced the plugin file on a test server. After updating, all of the pricing information, and basic settings on every product (over 100) were changed and became unavailable.

Is it possible to update this plugin without causing these big problems?
