• The update to version 4.0.0 caused a fatal error on my site.

    WordPress 6.0.3 and PHP 8.0.25.

With the recovery mode I was able to acquire the following error message:

    same issue here

    Same issue too

I have the same issue with the plugin 4.0 update.

Revert to the prior version until there is a update fix?

@kpbryce132 Yeah, at the moment it’s the only solution. Reverting or disabling the plugin via file manager/ftp.

The developers seem aware of the problem, I noticed they have just retired the update, now the latest version is 3.10.0. https://it.wordpress.org/plugins/backwpup

Hope they’ll fix the bug with 4.0 soon.

    Same issue here, Bye

    Hi there,
We really sorry about the issue happened with the free 4.0 version, there is something wrong during building the free package that lead to the issue.
We have reverted the plugin to the previous 3.10.0 version and will release the new free version in the next few days.
In case you got an issue, please remove the backwpup folder wp-content/plugins and then install the current version(3.10.0) again.
Thank you and we really sorry about the issue.
Download the latest 3.10.0 here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/backwpup/

and the same here, reverting to version 3.10.0 worked

    Hi,
can you please publish a 4.0.1 version???
I am using Backwpup on 70 websites. I disabled the plugin on all of them after having this fatal error on one of them. I suppose that most of them have the 4.0.0 error-free version but some of them certainly have and I don’t know which ones.
It would be great to be able to update to a error-free version of the plugin before activating it again.
    Thanks
    Nathalie

Agree publish a new version please
