# Update and Lost Plugin

 * Just updated the plugin and WordPress and the plugin disappeared from my list
   of installed. No calendar on the website ([http://childrensmuseumofil.com/events/](http://childrensmuseumofil.com/events/)),
   not in the list of plugins.
 * Went to reinstall and got the following message:
    Installing Plugin: The Events
   Calendar 4.0.4 Downloading install package from [https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/the-events-calendar.4.0.4.zip…](https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/the-events-calendar.4.0.4.zip…)
 * Unpacking the package…
 * Installing the plugin…
 * Destination folder already exists. /www/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/
 * Plugin install failed.
 * Return to Plugin Installer
 * Suggestions appreciated – we have an event on New Year’s Eve and we need to get
   it back online ASAP.

 * Sorry for the issues.
 * I am not sure how it happened, but you can manually update the plugin or go in
   by ftp and delete it and then re upload it.
 * WordPress does not allow you to overwrite an existing plugin unless you use their
   update system.
