Support » Accessibility » Update alt text in posts when updated in media library

  • I have lots of posts on my site with images, which didn’t all have alt text. I just went through the media library adding alt text to all of them. But I realised that this hasn’t updated the alt text in the posts where the images were already included. Is there a way to automatically send updated alt text to all the places the images are included?

  • If you are trying to change the alt tag of the image posted in a blog or a page, then you have to manually change the alt tag in the text version of the blog. Changing the alt tag in the visual editor will not change the image alt everywhere it is posted.

First you have to login to your WordPress website and then get in text version of the post where the image is located.

    img src=”www.a b c. com /wp-content /uploads/2022/06/ 123.png” alt=”YOUR-ALT”

In the first line of the code you will get this image code where you have to paste the URL of the image from the live page.

Hello @averixus, @jakept have explained in the detail related to your question. I think it will solve all of your queries. You can find that thread here.

You should use classic editor plugin and select any image and click edit option from there you can easily update alt text.
