It looks like many of the links in the plugin should get updated to HTTPS:
https://github.com/wp-plugins/akismet/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=http%3A%2F%2F

A careful find and replace should take care of them:
* http://akismet.com
* http://blog.akismet.com
* http://docs.akismet.com
