# Update 4.4 Cannot edit or post content

 * I just updated to the new version of WordPress 4.4. I can now no longer edit 
   or post any content. The content appears on my site but when I click to edit 
   on WordPress it says the word count is 0 and I cannot click anything. I tried
   deactivating all my plugins and I was still having the same problem. Also, when
   I try to click the box at the top of the plugin page to select all, nothing happens.

 * Exactly the same problem here… never ever before have i had an issue with WP,
   regardless of plugins i have, etc… But 4.4 did it for me… have tried so far, 
   all solutions suggested with no success…

 * Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one
   individually until you find the cause.
 * If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme
   to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
 * If none of those make any difference, are you running any anti-virus or web security
   software? If so, would you please try with those temporarily deactivated? It

 * James Huff – We, users, do hate to admit that we are impatient… It was a cache
   issue… all i had to do was… simply wait… It is all sorted. Man, thank you very
   much for caring.

 * I believe this was due to my Bitdefender AV software. Once I disabled it I was
   able to use WordPress normally again. And this morning it is working fine even
   with my AV software active.

 * Disabled bitdefender but now Vis Editor is broke.
