Support » Plugin: W3 Total Cache » update 2.2.10 kill site

  • The latest update 2.2.10 completely kills the wordpress site loads, but when you go to the admin panel, you always get a 504 error. The plugin itself works fine, but there are always problems with the update, it cannot update correctly and always falls into some kind of error, that the server has to delete the maintenance file manually.
I’m seriously thinking about finally getting rid of this plugin and switching to another one, possibly worse working, but correctly self-updating

    Hello @esmertec

First of all, I am sorry about the issue you experienced after the latest update, and thank you for the review.
I cannot share any links here, however, the issue was addressed and the fix is already available in the latest update.
As for the maintenance problem, the updates take only a few seconds and are too brief to be noticed. However, sometimes, the process would get interrupted. This hiccup could come from errors in server connection, or when a browser or a page was closed while the update was going on. and since W3 Total Cache is a robust plugin there are a lot of files to be updated.

I hope the latest patch fix solves your problem and I hope we can work together to improve this review!

    Thanks!

Hey @vmarko! For the sake of interest, I decided to install the latest version 2.2.12, the problem persists. During this time, I have already found an alternative that works just as well, so I’m unlikely to use this plugin again.

Thanks for your support and good luck with the development!
