After upgrading to 3.9* the Upcoming Events widget doesn’t appear to work in the right sidebar location of my theme (Tempera). It says “There are no upcoming events at this time.” (yes, there are indeed multiple upcoming events) It used to work in this location.

Strangely, if I move the widget to one of the other areas (say, Header) then it displays the future events as one would expect.

Also, when selecting the “Show widget only if there are upcoming events:” checkbox… the widget goes away when in the right side bar, but the same widget configuration will appear in the header area.

    Any ideas?

*(it could have been the 3.8.3 update — as we didn’t have events during that time)
