Yes – it’s a bug relating to counting with multi-day events. I’ve got a fix, and I’m testing it. Should be out within the next day or two.

    Best,
    Joe

just updated to the latest version and now have 5 entries (should be 6) in the upcoming widget area with the last 2 being duplicated. here is the link: http://www.datacenterjournal.com/ let me know if it is something i am doing on my side. thanks.

I am having the same issue and I do have some multi-day events. Have you found a fix for this one?

My site is http://www.hilltopmontessori.com and I am on the most current versions of the plugin (2.1.5) and WordPress (3.5.1).

    Thanks,
    Cindy

I’m also having trouble with the upcoming events widget… I have a widget set to display the next three events in a particular category. The next four events in this category are each four-day multi-date events. But only one of the multi-date events shows up. I’m assuming this is because it is seeing each event individually and not as a singular multi-date event…

Is it possible the counting bug affects grouped events, as well? Please look at http://ourhousesl.com/services/ and notice the MyCalendar widget in the right column. It shows no upcoming events, but if you click on Link to Full Calendar, there are lots of upcoming events. Community Bingo is a grouped event, with several dates and times. It started on Feb 13. The upcoming events were calculating correctly before adding the Community Bingo grouped event.

It’s definitely possible, even likely. If you can contact me via email, (use the support request form), I can give you a patch for just that file, but I’m not currently able to release an update generally.

Kudos to Joe Dolson, author of the great plugin My Calendar! He helped figure out that the standard short code for the widget includes a reference to “author”, as follows:

    [my_calendar_upcoming before=”3″ after=”3″ type=”event” fallback=”No events coming up!” category=”General” author=”1″ template=”{title} {date}” order=”asc” show_today=”yes” skip=”0″]

In my case, two people were entering events. The short code specified author=”1″, which prevented the events from the second user from appearing.

To fix my problem, I removed the portion of the widget short code, author=”1″. That made it possible for all events to appear, no matter who entered them.

I just donated to Joe. He was quick to reply and stuck with me until the problem was resolved.

    Per Joe:

To show users with the role of administrator, you need to enter a
comma-separated list of IDs. To show all users, just delete the
    attribute entirely. It’s not required.

    Thanks, Joe!

Thank you, Jane! Glad I was able to help you out.

I am using the Upcoming Event widget and just tried to go from 8 future events to show to 10 and it still shows 8 (set to 0 past). I cleared cached, no change. Is there a max to show for the widget?

    Plugin Author Joe Dolson

    @joedolson

No, there’s no max. Are you using any caching plug-ins outside of My Calendar’s caching?

    no caching plugins installed… datacenterjournal.com
