Unwanted <br /> when using get_linksbyname?

    It’s supposed to default to if the ‘after’ is not specified, but even if I’ve added   it still gives me a after each link:

    <?php get_linksbyname(‘Site Listings’, ”, ‘&nbsp;‘, ”, TRUE, ‘name’, FALSE, FALSE, -1, FALSE); ?>

    Surely &nbsp; counts as something? I don’t want the break. I feel like I’m missing something but I can’t figure it out…
