Support » Fixing WordPress » unwanted footer on each post

  • Very new to wordpress; finding that my first few posts show a footer, in a grey box, with category, tags, an option to edit….and this is presumably what the public would see….Also, don’t see any option for public to leave a comment. Using a standard theme template (tropicala). Any input appreciated. -Ken

  • Hi, Ken. Would you post a link to your site?

the site is http://www.realtalktherapy.com. Currently though, I have put the posts into draft mode till I figure this out. But, I will go and put a few back into publish mode so you can see….thanks…

Ah. Pretty site. The option to edit is only visible to you. The option to show tags and categories is built into your template – probably in the style sheet, but I’m not sure. You can edit the template via the item in the dashboard sidebar that says “appearance” – choose theme editor. You need someone more knowledgeable than I to give you definitive answer on how to remove this, but this will at least bump your query and set you on the path. You should mention the name of your template – is it Tropicala? That’s what I thought I saw in source code. I’d leave it public so people can see it to help – as it turns out, it’s pretty rare for people to accidentally stumble on our sites 🙂

    Good luck!
