Unwanted email spam – GDPR?

    Hi guys, I wanted to try this plugin, so I activated it one day. Was too complicated for my purpose so I’ve deleted it same day.

    After few days, I received some kind of your newsletter. I’ve never put my email into this plugin or click on some kind of opt-in button/link. Because of this, it looks like my email was taken without my permission from WP user information so I lost my trust in this plugin and don’t recommand to use it.

    In your newsletter is this sentence: “You’re receiving this because you purchased a product or opted in to marketing communications from The Events Calendar” which is NOT true.

    How this is possible? You don’t care about user privacy? What about GDPR? Main question – how to do opt out?

    You definitely should remove this behaviour…

    Hi Michal,

    I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you!

    I’m not sure how you would have been added to our email list. And there is an opt-in feature that should keep you from being added to any unwanted emails.

    Can you email support@theeventscalendar.com with the email address you are receiving the newsletter at? That way, we can remove you from any lists we have and hopefully see how you were added to our email list. In your email, please be sure to include a link to this post, so they know what it’s in reference to. And if you send it attention to me, I’ll make sure it’s addressed as quickly as possible.
