Support » Theme: Charity Review » Unwanted blue box on header

  • The sample demos for this theme show an attractive header bar with white lettering on a black background for the organization’s name. However, when I install this theme, there is a blue box on the header bar that I can’t get rid of, and when I try to enter the name of the organization, the box cuts off the organization’s name.

  • Can you post a link to your site?

    I haven’t activated the theme because I can’t get it to work right. The blue box I’m talking about is the background to the text I enter for Site Identity.

    To be honest, I can’t seem to figure out how they created the view shown in the screenshot. I noticed that they have a premium version; perhaps you may be able to do so using the premium version. I was able to “fake” it, though.

    First, you’ll set a logo by going to Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Site Identity > Logo. Then, you’ll set the background color on the logo area to be the same as the menu bar by going to Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Theme Options > Layout and Design and setting the Logo Background Color and the Logo Hover Background Color to #272e37. Finally, you’ll remove the overhang with this custom CSS (Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Theme Options > Custom CSS):

    .site-branding:before {
      border-left: none !important;
    }

    .navbar .site-branding {
      box-shadow: none;
    }

    .navbar .site-branding:hover {
      box-shadow: none;
    }
