[Resolved] Unwanted arrows between sharing buttons

  • I have the same problem as a previously posted topic

    I’m using Montezuma theme, with Jetpack, and I’m getting some ugly arrows in amongst the sharing buttons, which I would love to get rid of.

    Here it is on my site

    Sorry, but maybe I’ve missed the solution in the previous postings?

  • Hi NikPugh,

    You can open your style.css and find out this code:

    .comment-text ul li i {
    display: inline-block;
    width: 12px;
    height: 12px;
    margin-right: 10px;
    margin-left: -20px;
    background: transparent url(http://www.nikpugh.com/wp-content/themes/montezuma/images/icons.png) -48px -84px no-repeat;
    }

    Remove the ONLY the background and the arrow is gone

    Nik, don’t make changes to the style.css file directly. As you have jetpack, use the custom CSS to ADD the code you need to changee (copy from the above section) – and make the changes in the custom CSS file.

    Thanks to both of you.

    I took both your advices, and tweaked the code to background: none;

    .hentry ul li i, .comment-text ul li i {
    	background: none;
    	display: inline-block;
    	height: 12px;
    	margin-left: -20px;
    	margin-right: 10px;
    	width: 12px;
    }

    Plus I had to change the button style to icon + text in Jetpack.

    Thanks to all three of you. I had the same issue, and NikPugh’s CSS worked perfectly for me, without modification.
