  • I just got a batch of this. Very odd stuff. It goes to post #0. There is no post #0, so I don’t know what is gained from this by the spammer. In addition, since there’s no Post #0, it doesn’t show up on the recent comments on the sidebar. I went into edit comments to edit a completely different thing, and noticed a flood of spam that wasn’t showing up at all on the page. It took me a second to see what was going on.
    It was all from one spammer (a mortgage-refi outlet) so I added the name to the blacklist. I don’t know that they get search-engine benefits from comments made to non-existent posts. Just wondering — is there a way to lock up that loophole? (However, any solution shouldn’t be so strict as to kill existing, legit comments if I make a “publish” post back into a “draft” post for further revision).
