  • A calendar that is offered fraudly as free when really is a paid addon. Observe that you must PAY to import your google calendar. UNBELIEVABLE! A time loss

  • Hi, @erasmo5016ea

    Sorry for your disappointment.

Free software that does what it says (provides a calendar in this case) and is maintained (bug fixes, feature enhancements) is of great value, as everyone in the WordPress community knows. Hopefully you can at least agree we let you create a calendar.

In order to fund the operations — including planning, development, and support — of this and our other free plugins, such as Event Tickets, we need to earn money, and we’ve chosen to do that by selling add-ons.

Our free offering includes Month View and supports multiple time zones, which other calendar plugins (even paid ones) either don’t offer for free or at all — just as an example of the value we’re offering for free.

To your specifics, our Event Aggregator (EA) add-on allows importing from Google Calendar (via its iCalendar feed) and other sources on a one-time basis or scheduled.

The free plugin, without EA, allows importing from CSV. You could use a tool like https://www.projectwizards.net/en/support/ics2csv-converter (third-party, not guaranteed or supported by us) to convert Google’s iCalendar feed to CSV and do your Google Calendar import for free.

Some other free WordPress calendar plugins also charge to import from iCalendar and other sources. If you require Google/iCalendar importing on a schedule built into a free plugin, I’m not sure you’ll find it, and if you do, then we wish you long happiness with that solution. There are quite a few calendar plugins that do not even have importing available of any kind.

We know our solutions won’t always be the perfect fit for each use case, but we are proud of the value we provide for free and of the value of our paid offerings.

I hope this explanation helps you realize we’re working hard for the WordPress community and have been delivering a lot of value for a number of years.

Your 1 star review, if deserved, is a failing grade in our opinion. We hope you recognize the value we’re providing is positive for the community, even if it’s not the right fit for your needs at this time, and that your rating can be increased as a result, signifying our free software is not failing the WordPress community as a whole.
