Unsubscribe link not working for non WP users

    Issue with Unsubsribe link

    Hi, I am facing a strange issue with the Unsubsribe link on the emails that are sent out using this plugin.

    Now, my mailing list consists of two types of emaisl:

    1. Emails of people who registered as users on my WordPress website.

    2. Emails of people who opted in for newsletters with their emails, hence are not registered as users on my website.

    Now here’s the issue.

    When someone clicks on the unsubscribe link, if he/she is a registered user on my WordPress site, he is successfully unsubscribed.

    But if the person is among the ones that are not registered users on my site, then it does not work; he/she remains as subscribed.

    Please let me know how to fix this. Thanks.

    Hi @farshid111

    It seems like the Unsubscribe page is only accessible for logged-in users or something similar. Is that the case? Does the Unsubscribe link work for those who are simple subscribers (not WP users)?

    Hi!

    Actually, it should work with not WP users as well. How did you create the Unsubscribe page? Are you using the shortcode [mailpoet_page]?

    Please create a testing page and include that shortcode, then assign that page as the “Unsubscribe” one in MailPoet -> Settings and send a testing email to yourself – open then the unsubscribe link with an incognito window (so you can try if it works for non-WP users).

    Thank you for the directions.

    We created the Unsubscribe page using the “[mailpoet_page]” shortcode. Now it is working for simple subscribers (Non WP users) as well.
