Support » Plugin: Gmail SMTP » Unreliable plugin and useless support

  • Although it’s complicated to set up, I installed this plugin a while back and it seemed to work great. Until it didn’t. So I asked for support almost FOUR DAYS AGO with complete documentation of the error codes received when testing (see https://wordpress.org/support/topic/the-plugin-stopped-dead/), and never got a reply. So I posted below that original post that a different plugin, WP Mail SMTP was super easy to install in just a couple minutes, and it worked great to make my site’s email function again. Guess what? Within an hour somebody had CENSORED my followup post! So they can’t be bothered to actually address support requests, but they are totally on the ball to try to keep people from finding out they don’t!

Hi there, I’m a moderator on these forums (as in all of WordPress.org), and I have no formal or informal relationship with the plugin developer.

I deleted most of your replies under your support topic because you failed to use constructive and mature language free of insults, name-calling, and threats.

You’ve been warned about this various times over the past year here, so that shouldn’t be surprising to you.

Since you’ve been warned about this repeatedly over the past year, please consider this your final warning. If you fail to conduct yourself like a mature adult, you will find that your account has been banned.

These plugins are provided for free, often developed in the developer’s free time. They owe you nothing, and they certainly do not have to deal with your abuse here.
