    Hello,
So I installed it but it won’t allow users to post comments, because si-captcha says, “Unreadable CAPTCHA Token File”. I bet it’s related to a permissions problem, because in the si-captcha settings it says, “There is a problem with the directory /captcha/cache/. The directory Unwritable (fix permissions). Permissions are: 0777 Fixing this may require assigning 0755 permissions or higher (e.g. 0777 on some hosts. Try 0755 first, because 0777 is sometimes too much and will not work.) Fixing the actual problem is recommended, but you can check this setting on the SI CAPTCHA options page: “Use PHP sessions” and the captcha will work (if PHP sessions are supported by your web host).”

What directory is si-captcha trying to access? In the plugins subdirectory I have captcha/cache and it is all 777 permission.

    Thanks.

Well I restarted httpd and it appears to work now. But I still have that permissions complaint.

    strace shows httpd doing: [pid 7030] open(“/usr/share/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/si-captcha-for-wordpress/captcha/cache/eaNCt7btGDaJXHPf.php”, O_WRONLY|O_CREAT|O_TRUNC, 0666) = 15

But the cache is 777 so that can’t be a problem for apache. It’s even owned by apache.

Hi do you have a cache plugin installed?

Hmmm… I’m not sure. I have run the “Responsive” theme, and there is a “Responsive addons” plugin. Deactivating it seems to have corrected the issue. Thanks!

Actually all plugins are now disabled except for si-captcha. Suddenly it’s broken again, I don’t know why.

Sorry, I have gone to Captcha by BestWebSoft. It is working with all my plugins and I don’t have time to debug.

No problem I am glad you found a solution.

    Regards
