Unpublishing pages and google

    I have unpublished a few pages that I would like to hide for now, but they are still appearing in google search and google image search is linking to their images. How can I make sure that they totally dissapear? (I do not want to completely delete these pages but not to have them public in any way)
    I will appreciate your help. Thank you!

    If you’re using Google Webmaster Tools you should add a new sitemap so that Google crawls your site and pick up the changes. Unfortunately, there’s no guarantee it will happen right away. It might take several days.

    What bothers me also is that in google image search when I follow the pictures it does open the page that is supposed to be unpublished now. How can this happen?

    Are you using a caching plugin? If so, empty the cache. Also, test the issue on different machine/browser.
