Unpublished draft autosaved incorrectly – can I find saved drafts?

I was typing a post and was in the process of captioning pictures when everything suddenly disappeared. I had just saved it myself, and then everything went blank except the last two letters (nd) of the word I was in the middle of typing. I click “undo” on my right mouse menu, but it only undid the d that had been typed. I can’t find the saved draft anywhere.

A post from a few years ago that appeared to deal with a similar situation said to go to Screen Options and check revisions, but when I go to Screen Options, I see nothing saying revisions and certainly nothing with a box to check next to it.

I have no idea what happened to delete everything. I was simply typing, and it all disappeared. I’m screaming at all the wasted time if this entire thing has been lost. Thank you for any help you can provide.
