'Unknown search terms' in Site Stats

    I’m experiencing the same issue. Of 149 total search terms yesterday, 113 were unknown. Of 156 search terms today, 115 are unknown. The unknown search term figure has dramatically increased over the last 3-4 days.

    For privacy reasons, Google does not reveal search terms from users searching Google using HTTPS. You can read more about it here:

    Up until the middle of September, the number of users using HTTPS was fairly small. However, a few weeks ago Google started to rapidly expand the number of searches that it encrypts, which results in a higher proportion of “Unknown search terms” in your stats.
    According to some sources, this expansion will eventually result in encryption of all Google searches.

    We recognize this means a loss of stats information for you and we will look for other ways to show you how users arrived at your site.
