Unfortunately, the downgrade did not resolve the issue. Instead of the shortcodes, that I enter into the widgets text field in the backend providing the functionality it is supposed to, it just prints the shortcode in the widget on the website. (see screenshot link in my opening post). Any idea why this happens? Would removing and reinstalling the plugin be an option. It worked for a couple of months on the old server with the same theme, and it worked for ~ a week on the new server with the current theme. Unfortunately, I do not know exactly when it stopped. But there was no update of the theme involved. And contact forms still work, so it should not be the theme, as far as I understand. * Besides that, it works just fine to add the forms to the menus, no problem there.
