    I have been using Photonic for some time now, I created a new blog post yesterday and embed a gallery form Zenfolio. I noticed an “unknown error” showing in place of the gallery and it looks like all my older articles are now showing the same error. I have updated the shortcode to custom one instead of the default gallery shortcode. I installed the plugin on another site to test and same results. Anyone else experiencing issues with Zenfolio galleries? I tested a Flickr gallery I have and it shows fine.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Could it have something to do with mapping my default Zenfolio galleries under my own domain? https://photos.joetourist.ca/ vs http://joetourist.zenfolio.com

    Both URLs resolve, but…

    Mine stopped working sometime between Aug 14 and Sept 19, It worked on one post and when creating the newest blog post I notice it stopped. The only thing I could think that changed between each post was a WordPress update. I did try having the default user settings and not set, both result in the same error.

    Host support is asking if there are any particular server requirements that have to be enabled on the server end? They have been looking into the issue, tried different options and changes without any success. Thanks.

    Hi,
    I had another user provide me with some info on another thread. I will try out a change based on this, and hopefully that will fix the issue. I do need some time though, as I am traveling internationally for my regular work and I haven’t been able to look at other things.

    I’m certainly willing to wait, since my Plan B involves switching my JoeTourist photo hosting to my Flickr account, which would be a huge amount of work!

    I looked at the other thread, and from what I understand, could it be caused by Zenfolio’s switch to https? From the shared logs, it appears the API connection moved from: http://www.zenfolio.com/ to https://zenfolio.com

    I have numerous Zenfolio galleries embedded into my various sites using the Photonic plugin on WordPress.org, and it has all looked great, until yesterday. Now all the pages with galleries show an “Unknown Error” message instead of the gallery. You can see an example at this link: https://obxfamilybeachportraits.com/ …Please advise ASAP?

    Thanks so much!

    I have made some small changes and uploaded this file: https://pastebin.com/n9dJ8JAs.

    Please download this file and overwrite the contents of wp-content/plugins/photonic/extensions/Photonic_Zenfolio_Processor.php. Alternatively, you can click on “raw” on the Pastebin site, and overwrite the contents of the file from there.

    Let me know if this makes any difference.

    It works!

    Test Photonic with Zenfolio

    Thanks for fixing this problem…

    Cheers,
    Joe

    I did download the file and did the overwrite, but still getting the Unknown Error where galleries should be on each of my sites using this app. For example – https://obxfamilybeachportraits.com

    My host (Bluehost) is asking if there’s anything else they can do on their end?

    Same host, using Bluehost aswell. I uploaded and tested, the plugin now works on Bluehost. However, I also tested the same theme I am using on 000webhost free hosting space and it did worked there before the new coding.

    Now, on at least one of my sites (my wedding photography site), the gallery still shows Unknown error AND there’s an additional message at the top of any page with an embedded gallery that says: ” Warning: array_merge(): Argument #2 is not an array in /home/obxenter/public_html/outerbanksbrides/wp-content/plugins/photonic/extensions/Photonic_Zenfolio_Processor.php on line 1149

    Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given in /home/obxenter/public_html/outerbanksbrides/wp-content/plugins/photonic/extensions/Photonic_Zenfolio_Processor.php on line 1149 “.

    For reference on the above issue, here’s a link with the issue(s): https://outerbanksbrides.com/bridalportraits/

    @obxentertainment,
    It doesn’t look like you have got the file updated. Line 1149 refers to a simple return in the file I posted at https://pastebin.com/n9dJ8JAs:
    return $ret;

    But it does refer to call_user_func_array on line 1149 in the older version of the file:
    $challenge_pack = call_user_func_array('pack', array_merge(array('C*'), $challenge));

    Please note that the file wp-content/plugins/photonic/extensions/Photonic_Zenfolio_Processor.php has to be replaced; the file name is case-sensitive and the new file has 1252 lines (the old one had 1233 lines).

    @valexv84, @joetourist,
    Can you confirm that who your hosting provider is? If both of you are using BlueHost, it would seem like something broke in how cURL calls are handled by BlueHost between the two versions of WP. I was originally using an explicit cURL call, but in the modified file I have switched to using a native WP call.

    I sent Bluehost your instructions about the update. They helped me do it through Live Chat, which resulted in the above, plus all my featured images and all Yoast SEO info for each post on https://obxentertainment.com has somehow disappeared. I know nothing about code or anything like that, I’m just telling them what I’m being told here. All I Know is I’ve used Photonic on 4 different sites with numerous galleries from Zenfolio for the past year with no issues, but last few days have been disasterous. I know I have optimization issues, but again, no issues with this plugin until now, and in fact I have been systematically removing photo galleries from WP over the last year and replacing them with Zenfolio galleries embedded with Photonic, in an effort to improve optimization and take up less server disc space. Currently the plugin is deactivated on https://obxentertainment.com. When I tried out reactivating it a few minutes ago, it resulted in large frame appearing around the homepage of the site so I deactivated again. I was able to get Bluehost to get it working properly at https://outerbanksbrides.com, but that’s it. The other two sites – https://obxfamilybeachportraits.com and https://halloweendailynews.com are not working, as the galleries are still not showing.
    Sorry for all the trouble, I’m sure it’s probably me, but I’ve just never run into anything like this in the seven years that I’ve been running my own sites. Please advise? Thanks again.
