# Universal Shortcode

 * I use this plugin to simply display a rich content ad that changes weekly.
 * The current shortcode is [the_ad id=”342″]. I set up a slightly-modified (date)
   ad for each week that starts on a Monday and ends on a Sunday.
 * I just realized that each ad has a unique shortcode that means I still have to
   place the shortcode each week. Is there a code to display the current active 
   ad?
 * I know that I am under utilizing the power of your plugin, but this is just what
   I need for my simple task. Thank you in advance.

 * Thanks for posting this question.
 * Managing the current ads from a central place is better than editing multiple
   posts every week.
 * I recommend creating a manual placement, that you can also [inject with a shortcode](https://wpadvancedads.com/manual/shortcodes/).
   You can find it’s shortcode below the placement’s title. Then, you can decide
   if you assign your ad to this placement, or if you create an [ad group](https://wpadvancedads.com/manual/ad-groups/)
   instead, which contains multiple ads.
 * On the one hand, you could show different ads in the same position. On the other
   hand, you could also plan your ads better. For example, I would use the [schedule function](https://wpadvancedads.com/manual/start-expiry-date/)
   to set up the ads for an entire month, and not to do it every week.
