• Hello, since I activated the universal code flag I started getting all the demographics correctly, but the bounce rate dropped from around 80-90% to 0-10% even the visitors count dropped from 1000 per day to around 300.

I know sometime bounce rate can be affected by double tracking code, but this is not the case, I checked everything several times and the only difference is the flag on Universal on this plugin. Any idea?

    The website is http://www.scotoutdoors.com

    Thanks

    Hi carodani,

We are not aware of any changes to the Google Analytics tracking code that would affect this. I’m also not seeing anything in the Google product forums about this but it’s possible that Google has changed something. If you’re concerned whether the tracking code that All in One SEO Pack outputs is correct then compare each line of the code to the tracking code Google provides when you go into Admin on your Google Analytics account. If they are the same then everything is fine.

Hello wpsmort, thanks for your answer,

I understand that the code could be just the same, this doesn’t explain anything about the behaviour and the reason could be something else from your side.

Have you tested the universal code compared to the normal one when activated on your plugin to see if there are any differences?

    Hi carodani,

If the code is the same then it’s not a problem with All in One SEO Pack. All that we do is implement the exact code that Google provides us. If the code is the same then Google Analytics should track stats normally, if it is not doing this then you need to report the issue in the Google Analytics Product Forums because this is a Google Analytics problem.

All in one SEO Pack plugin does many things not just analytics which is just an option, which can create problem with the rest of the code of the plugin itself, in fact disabling the plugin and inserting the universal code manually it works properly.

So again easy question for the developers of this plugin – yes or no: have you guys tested the universal code feature and compared to the normal one when activated on your plugin to see if there are any differences?

It’s ok to release new features as long as they work.

    Hi carodani,

Yes, of course we have tested, this feature has been in the plugin since October 2013 and there are many thousands of users who are using All in One SEO Pack to add GA universal code. Unless there is a mismatch in the code we output and the code provided by Google then this is a problem with our plugin. No other settings interfere with the GA code.
