    Most likely you have installed some minify plugin such as W3 Total cache and minified all files into one and broke slider functionality. Don't get me wrong, W3 is a great plugin and all but you have to configure it properly to get the best results.

    Otherwise there might be some conflicts with other plugins but it is highly unlikely.

    I don't have a W3 plugin. And I don't think I've added any plugins in the past year. When i alternate the slide in the 1st position they all work. I can also copy and paste the links in my browser and they work. The slideshow function just doesn't work.

    Please copy/paste your shortcode you used for slider. And it would be good to see your website as well.

    This topic is covered in theme documentation: http://colorlib.com/wp/support/unite/

    Please read it and if you still have problems with setup, please let me know where you get stuck and I will try to help you from there.

    Thank you...but I only saw information about the Homepage Slider not the actual Unite Slideshow. I tried using a few plugins but it just doesn't look right or as good as the default plugin.

    This theme uses CPT Bootstrap Carousel and you can setup multiple slideshows and place them inside Posts/Page and elsewhere in your website.

    You can read more about this plugin here:

    i tried that already and the placement and shape of the slideshow was weird. There's no way i can just use the Unite Slideshow? It works, the slides just don't change.

    MsSocial,

    Try adding this to Theme Options - Other - Custom CSS

    .carousel {
        margin-top: -30px;
    }

    It's the Unite Theme specifically. My homepage slideshow and photo gallery both work with other themes, however i lose all of my design if I switch. is there a fix for the Unite theme. The slideshow feature just isn't working with the Unite Theme.

    A recent development: My Unite Slideshow on the homepage will not advance to the next slide and it doesn't have the small circles indicating there are more than one slide in the slideshow. When I click on the advance button, the homepage refreshes with a # at the end of the URL.
    I've verified all of the image URLs and the links. Currently the slideshow options have 5 slides to rotate through.

    Same here. Ive been told its the actual Theme. I tried changing to a new one (i did a preview) and everything worked just fine. Problem is....i dont want a new one. It will require me to give up all my custom design i had done. Somebody should create an update to fix this issue. Cause it sucks!!!!

    Update: I just deactivated my NextGEN Gallery plug-in and now my slideshow is working. Any ideas on what NextGEN is doing to the Unite theme?

    Here's an update from the NextGEN Gallery people and their thoughts about their plug in affecting the Unite theme: the Unite theme appears to be using a very old version of jQuery which may be what its slider is relying on.

    Activating NextGEN Gallery will take the used jQuery version requirement up to the current version bundled with WordPress (1.11.0 versus 1.4.2 pulled from your theme).

    The two versions may be conflicting in this case. I would suggest checking with the theme author to see if they plan to follow WordPress Best Practices and use the bundled version of jQuery in their theme rather than including and using a very old version from their files.

    @jcrowder01 the NextGen Gallery plugin made my homepage slideshow not work. If you visit http://www.habitatriverside.org and see the slideshow working, it's because I disabled the plugin.

    Thanks @cmorgando. I did the same thing yesterday and you're right...it worked. The only problem was that I also had a Photo Gallery that stopped working at that point. What I've found after hours of troubleshooting is that you have to disable NextGen Gallery then find a Photo Gallery Plugin that will not conflict with whatever programming operates the Homepage Slider. For me, it was the very basic Image Gallery Reloaded...because it was free. They're several others that I'm sure are much better, but you have to buy them. Not sure if you needed all of that info, but hey. LOL Thanks for your help!!

    This makes sense @jcrowder01 thank you for taking the time to respond. I'm still hoping to hear from Unite theme author @Silkalns to get his input on a possible fix.

    Guys,

    This isn't my theme and you are confusing it with http://themeforest.net/item/unite-wordpress-business-magazine-theme/90959

    Link to my actual theme: https://wordpress.org/themes/unite/

    Theme you are talking about is completely outdated and runs jQuery 1.4 which is not safe to use because dozens of bug fixes are released for jQuery since then.

    Of course, you are getting jQuery/JavaScript conflicts as WordPress and NextGen Gallery requires different jQuery version.

    I would keep away from this theme as fas as possible because it is no longer safe to use it and you business might be under risk of being hacked.
