Uninstalling WordPress

  • Hi

I have several domains with WordPress Installed.

I have uninstalled WordPress on one of my domains. However, when I try to re-install it I get the following message:

The installation can not be completed:

    – You chose to install in the main directory of the domain bivvyreviews.com, but there are conflicting filenames, therefore we can not proceed. Following filenames already exist in the main directory of the domain bivvyreviews.com (path=”/home/james401/public_html/bivvyreviews.com/”).You must manually remove these files before proceeding with auto-installation:
    wp-admin
    wp-content
    wp-includes

Click on the browser’s Back button to fix reported errors.

Please advise how I do this and will this affect any of my other wordpress installations on other domains??

    Thanks

    James

  • You need to go through your host’s file manager and delete those folders. You could also use an FTP program, but it’s much slower. Either way will work, though.

    Next issue……..

I delete these folders and they then re-appear again!!

    How is this happening?????????
