Uninstalling google xml sitemaps HELP PLEASE!!!!

Someone Please Help Me Out!

I found this here in the support and I have posted in here asking questions and no one responds with an answer.

- Download it again from here and upload it
To reset the plugin, just delete the sitemap files via a FTP program and click “Reset Settings” in the admin panel. After that it will be like a fresh installation.”

HELP PLEASE!!!!

My site map debug function shows the code for two themes, the one I used last fall before migrating my domain to Synthesis Hosting, Oct/12. It was recommended I use the W3TC and Yoast SEO Plugin…all it has been is a total nightmare. Lost all traffic (10,000 – 20,000) a day down to 2000 if I am lucky.

I have switched back to the Google XML Sitemap back in Jan./23

Now this site map has everything in it from 2 different name servers, two themes…double everything. It’s like I have one theme setting on another in my site map if that makes any sense to anyone.

I feel I need to delete this Google Sitemap because I have over 4000 404’s in GWT’s. I don’t have any knowledge of code and I do not understand from the comment Arnee has made below in how to proceed with his directions.

Do I go to my dashboard in wordpress and delete the plugin?

Do I delete the site map .xml and .xml.gz in my FTP?

Or do I just do everything through the wordpress dashboard to delete and upload again?

How do I delete the sitemap files via FTP program? Do I go and delete the .xml and .xml.gz via my http://ftp.?

Do I go back and add .xml and .xml.gz after I click “reset settings”

I need to get rid of all the old code – bad code out of my site map, is this the way to go about it, or with the problem I am having should I just delete the site map and go with the Yoast SEO site map seeing as I am using the SEO part of the plugin already.

Between migrating to Synthesis hosting, using the Yoast SEO Plugin my site has hit rock bottom. Any and all help would be appreciated and thanks to whomever takes the time to read this and thinks they may have a solution.
