Uninstalling

    Hello,

    When I hit deactivate the plugin doesn’t deactivate to uninstall. It doesn’t do anything, the page refreshes but everything is exactly the same.

    I went to delete the plugin and I get an error now in wordpress saying that a smushit file is missing. “The plugin wp-smushit/wp-smush.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.”

    1) How do I get rid of that error so it doesn’t appear on my screen
    2) What is the proper way to uninstall and why wasn’t it deactivating?

    @xabcd,

    This error means that something went wrong during deletion. It could be some file permission issues. Now you can use any FTP or file editor to remove the wp-content/plugins/wp-smushit folder and the plugin will be gone.
