    Hi,
    thanks for your message.

You can safely remove ShortPixel plugin and no images should be affected. Also you could delete the ShortPixel backup folder safely but please note that once you delete it you won’t be able to reverse easily the pictures that were optimized by our plugin.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with?

    Thanks,
    Alex

Thank you kindly for your response!

Is there a way to restore backups easily? It would be ridiculous to have to click “restore backup” for each individual image.

I just realized you can simply move the entire backup folder. However, does that backup folder contain file types that are not recognized by ShortPixel? I.e., audio files, PDFs, etc.?

    Hi,
sorry for our slow reply, we missed this message 🙁

Currently you can either restore images one-by-one or you can re-run Bulk ShortPixel and optimize all the images as lossless instead of lossy.
From our experience users only need to restore a few images thus the one-by-one option is enough. But if you have a use-case that would require mass-restore please let us know.

As for the backup folder: it only contains files that are recognized by ShortPixel.

If you need further assistance the best way is to contact us directly here:
