Unfortunately there is no Validation against Bots (3 posts)

Unfortunately a calculation or human question/answer is not provided, which is a major missing function to prevent bots from registering. You would be spending too much time trying to weed out the good from the bots.

That is actually something that is being considered as an option in the 2.9 lifecycle. In the meantime, that type of validation (and any custom form validation, such as a honey-pot) can be added via filter hooks. The plugin does also natively support reCAPTCHA. Other CAPTCHAs can be added via filters as well.

I would like to commend you on your great work for producing WP Members.

CAPCHA has been found to impede visitors because of the strain and difficulty in deciphering the image. The object of a site is to make the experience comfortable and a balance of security. Human interaction in answering a math or a simple problem is proven to be better accepted than CAPCHA.

Thank you for your timely response.
