• Wanted this plugin to work out. Initial licensing of the pro version was problematic, requiring me to contact the developer who eventually gave me a special code to get it to activate properly. To be fair, this might be resolved in a subsequent update. Then after running an update to the plug-in this morning, I received a message in the dashboard that the pro version was conflicting with the free version from which I had upgraded —a known temporary issue. It instructed me to go to the developers website, download and reinstall the pro version to fix this problem. It didn’t. I had to remove the plug-in completely then reinstall the pro version from scratch to resolve the conflict. After finally getting pro functionality restored, media cleaner marked every image file in my media library as “seems not in use.” All were in use. Every one of them. And they are inline images, not buried within other plugins.

This could be a great plug-in, after resolving the activation issue, update problems and incorrectly labeling in-use files for deletion. Unfortunately, the risk and labor involved to workaround these problems makes the cost bigger than the benefit -for me. Congratulations to the people who installed, activated and used it successfully. This may become a great plug-in after additional development. For now, I’m deactivating and uninstalling it.

    Hello,

Yes, there was a big update which was required to be done by WordPress.org, otherwise I wouldn’t have asked my users to do it through messages in the admin. Unfortunately, I had no choice. But that doesn’t influence the plugin itself or its features.

About the files not being detected as used, that is something for the Support Threads I believe. If you buy a car and it doesn’t go straight, you don’t write a review on a website about that car, you go to your shop and ask for help 🙂 Nothing against you, you are free to do what you prefer, it is just if you want the plugin to works it is better to talk with the developer(s) without hurting them.

This plugin is a very difficult piece of software (that is why there is no alternative), is hard work, doesn’t even worth it for me but it is needed. I do try my best and it works fine in most cases, but I need my users to help. Cheers.
