I’m trying to upload a 30Mb .pdf, the administrator of the website doesn’t have any problem, as any upload limitation is higher than 30Mb, but every user with the Shop Manager role get this error when trying to upload the same file.

Unexpected response from the server. The file may have been uploaded successfully. Check in the Media Library or reload the page.

How can I solve this issue? looks like the limitation is on the shop manager user role.

    Thank you

  • Hello @artemis21 ,

In general, WordPress does not differ the file upload size based on user role. However, third-party plugins or custom codes can override this behavior.

Can you please run through these tests and let me know how it goes?

    1. Switch to a default theme i.e. Twenty Twenty / Storefront
    2. Deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce and then activate them one by one to figure out the faulty one.

Test your feature after each activation/deactivation. More details on the conflict test here.

If the above does not help please share your WooCommerce configuration details from wp-admin > WooCommerce > Status so we can understand a bit more about the problem.

    Thank you 🙂
