Unexpected error while updating from 3.7.1 to 3.9.1

    Hello to all,

    I tried upgrading from wordpress 3.7.1 to 3.9.1, but an unexpected error occured and updation failed.
    Should i have to change the file permissions while updation?

    What exactly was the error message that you are seeing when trying to update?

    warning :- An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with wordpress.org or this server’s configuration(WordPress could not establish a secure connection wordpress.org)

    This is the error am getting, The same error was there while i tried to upgrade the plugins as well

    I would speak to your host as the problem lies with your server not being able to connect to WordPress.org. They should be able to help with why this is happening.
