I am running wordpress on my website monkshouts.org Till now everything was working fine but all of sudden this error is coming:

Warning: An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums. (WordPress could not establish a secure connection to WordPress.org. Please contact your server administrator.) in /home/monksj6h/public_html/wp-admin/includes/plugin-install.php on line 77

I am trying to search new plugins but this same error is coming every time. I saw many other threads for this, but couldn't resolve the issue.
Anyone else facing the same issue.
I have one more query as I am unsure whether I should update my wordpress installation or not because I don't know what changes will be made in my theme as I have given a lot of time in site customization?
For example, will footer copyright or anything will have to be updated again. Kindly help on this issue.

This is a server issue - sometimes caused by a failure to compile PHP with cUrl. Contact your hosts about it.
