    A site I built a few months ago has suddenly come up with this error:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home/sophiet/public_html/wp-includes/default-widgets.php on line 1035

    Could some one please let me know what to do. Many thanks. The website is

    Use your ftp to get a copy of that file and then look at it in a text editor. Compare the contents to one in a fresh download of the WordPress zip file. It’s possible that the file has been corrupted somehow. It’s also possible that you could have been hacked.

    Thank you I replaced the file with a fresh one and the problem seems to have gone. i think i was hacked.
