  • You seem to have an empty menu item between Home and About – rendered HTML here:

    <li class="current_page_item">
    <a title="Home" href="">Home</a>
    <li class="page_item page-item-7">
    <a href=""></a>
    <li class="page_item page-item-119">
    <a href="">About</a>

    Perhaps that’s the problem? At the moment, your menu items are also invisible – as they are the same color as the background.

    Nice one, not sure how that happened, but fixed it now. Not sure what you mean about menu items being invisible, they appear black and visible on my screens. Strange…

    Checked again and it’s only in Firefox – the menu text and the background are both black – so I can’t see the menu text at all — looks like it’s because of this CSS:

    #access {
        background: linear-gradient(#252525, #0A0A0A) repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
        box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.4);
        clear: both;
        display: block;
        float: left;
        margin: 0 auto 6px;
        width: 100%;

    Looks like adding background: none; to your child theme #access will fix that.

    thanks for your help WPyogi, all working now I think
